Greer Awards New Safety Syringe Contract to Infection Control Company Inviro Medical Devices
Infection Control Company's Safety Syringes Offered to Allergy Specialists Nationwide
ATLANTA – July 5, 2007 – Infection control company Inviro Medical Devices (www.inviromedical.com) this week announced that it entered into a new agreement with Greer, a leading developer and provider of allergy immunotherapy products and services, to supply InviroSNAP!® Safety Syringe products to the allergy market. Beginning this month, Greer will offer Inviro's manually retractable safety syringes to its network of allergy specialists to use for delivery of subcutaneous allergy immunotherapy treatments and allergy diagnostic testing.
"We look forward to partnering with Greer to provide our range of InviroSNAP! Safety Syringes to the allergy market," says Gareth Clarke, chief executive officer of Inviro Medical Devices. "Allergy specialists and their staff will benefit from the enhanced infection control features of our safety syringe technology."
"Our goal is to continue to bring new products to our customers," says John G. Roby, president and chief executive officer of Greer. "We believe that Inviro Medical Devices has a unique product offering, now packaged to meet the requirements of the allergy market. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial collaboration."
Inviro Medical Devices engineers and markets safe medication delivery systems, including the patented InviroSNAP! Safety Syringe, which can be used as a highly effective allergy syringe. After years of research to develop patents and refine product designs, the company is addressing the growing $1.6 billion safety syringe market and introducing its breakthrough infection control technology in North America to help address employee and patient safety concerns.
The company's flagship product, the innovative SNAP! Safety Syringe, is a manually retractable safety syringe that provides distinct protection and performance advantages when it comes to infection control:
- While most safety syringes are retro-fitted using add-on pieces, this device is uniquely engineered with the safety feature integral to the design.
- It looks and functions like a traditional syringe and is easy to use.
- After using standard technique to administer a medication dose, the clinician pulls the plunger back, causing the needle to retract inside the barrel. The plunger is then snapped off, permanently disabling the device.
