- Peel Package as indicated, to allow proper removal of the InviroSNAP! Retractable Safety Syringe: Fixed Needle (InviroSNAP! Safety Syringe) and remove needle cap.
- Prepare vial for medication draw up. Do not push the syringe plunger past the first gradation mark.
- Draw up medication per facility protocol. (See Figure 1).
- Prepare injection site and administer medication per facility protocol.
- To engage the safety mechanism, depress the plunger FULLY to enable retraction of the needle. (See Figure 2).
- Pull back on plunger until it stops: observe withdrawal of needle into barrel. (See Figure 3).
- Snap! off plunger to permanently disable syringe. (See Figure 4).
- Discard immediately in sharps container per facility protocol.
Caution The InviroSNAP! Safety Syringe should not be used to take blood samples. This device is sterile unless the package has been damaged or opened. If unable to activate safety mechanism, discard syringe immediately into an approved sharps container. This device is a single use item only. |
